Exactly what it Promises

These are some of the earliest LSAT tests. I'm told the format is slightly different now and the questions in the earlier tests are a bit harder, but they present a good place to start for any prospective test takers.

The Best Investment You'll Ever Make

I noticed this book along with my other two LSAT-prep purchases today looking back at age-old Amazon purchases for fun. Law school and the bar exam were several years ago for me, and I can honestly say now that I've been practicing law for a few years that this was one of the best investments I ever made. This book and its companion 10 More Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests (Lsat Series) are without question the best way to prep.

Before law school, I worked for two major test prep companies, and when I started preparing for the LSAT, I decided not to spend the thousands of dollars for a full length course. Instead, I focused on taking practice tests and going over any question I missed in intense detail to make sure I knew why I got the question wrong. Rinse and repeat. What I'd recommend is to take the first 10 tests without timing yourself, and when you go over each question, see if you can figure out for yourself why you got the question wrong. If possible, get someone else to grade the test for you so that you don't know the correct answer, and see if you can arrive at the correct answer on your second try. Then take the second test of 10 tests timed under full test conditions.

Over time, if you are being careful with your test-taking and learning from your mistakes, you'll see your score go up, and that's exactly what I saw happening as time went on. I worked through these tests and moved from a score in the 160s up into the 170s. When it came time to take the real test, it was far less stressful as I was able to tell myself it was "just another test" - after all, I had already worked through 20 on my own. I scored in the high 170s, got into a good law school, and now years later, I have a great job at a great law firm.

If you want to be an attorney, you have to beat the LSAT first, and this is hands down the best way to go about it.

Outdated

These older tests are far easier than the LSAT you are likely to take on exam day. Taking the tests in this book will do little more than give you a sense of false security that will leave you stranded and helpless in the examination room. Prepare by taking the more recent tests, which are more difficult and will serve as better indicators of how you will perform on exam day.

Great study tool

Yes, the most recent LSAT's (45+) are way tougher to score highly on, but this is still an excellent way to drill yourself on particular areas of weakness. The LSAT is a pesky little test and I found that ploughing through as many questions as I could stomach and pinpointing exactly where I made mistakes was by far the most effective approach to preparation.

Helpful, but old.

It is really helpful to have official LSAT tests to practice with. The only problem is that the tests reprinted here are from the 90's. Maybe that isn't a problem, but I would rather have more recent tests to go from!

Product Description

LSAT PrepTests are actual, previously administered LSATs. For pure practice at an unbelievable price, you can't beat 10 PrepTests for $29-purchased individually, these 10 practice tests would cost $80. Each test includes an answer key, writing sample, and score-conversion table.
