Do not buy

This is the worst review book I have used. If you're going to study for the LSAT, go to LSAC and buy their books. I found so many grammatical in this book it was ridiculous, and the video was very unprofessional. Their prep test questions are nothing like the LSAT questions. This book is NOT going to help you get into law school. Very disappointing.

About a 1 hour read...Buy something else

This book is full of short tips, most of which you will probably already have seen elsewhere in places like the Princeton Review and the many 'how to get into law school' type books (e.g. Susan Estrich or Montauk). The chapter on holistic preparation, ( prayer, meditation, hypnosis, stress removal techniques, etc.) is the only part that stands out, but it's only one chapter. I've borrowed my copy from a library and I'm glad I didn't have to pay for very ephemeral pleasure of reading it. Thus, since it's short and not very helpful or original, I'd buy something else.

some value, not for faint of heart

Simply put, this book would challenge even the creators of the LSAT themselves. IT is very convoluted material and extremely difficult to understand. The length of the Logic Games setups alone are enough to eat up half the allotted time. While the Logic Games had value, the LR were preposterous. The answers were ambiguous, and the authors themselves validated that many of the answers were not only reasonable, but were as correct as others that were credited as answers. DO NOT get stuck on these. I only made it through about 7 LR drills, scored horribly and was confused as to the credited answer, and moved to the games -- which I believe holds the greatest value (and where I needed the most work/practice). While others have covered how difficult and unrepresentative these games are and criticized the book for it, I think the only value this book holds is the degree of difficulty and how unrealistic the Logic Games are. If a tester is able to decipher the confusing, and many times uninterpretable language and situations, it makes even difficult games on the real LSAT preptests look like a cakewalk. I found myself looking forward to the real LG LSAT games, and improving on these LG sections because the 'Workbook' made me critique every sentence and setup, despite how long it took, and it pays off in Real LSATs in time and accuracy. I was done with real games before I knew it. Some of the questions are irritating to say the least -- the push buttons and switch game is an example. Not a book you should start with, but to improve games if you are at intermediate level, I would suggest practicing with very difficult material like this to improve your deduction skills speed and accuracy on more reasonable questions you will face.

OK if you're struggling to understand wrong answers

If you are taking LSAT tests 19-28 and are able to figure out why your incorrect answers are wrong then do not waste your money on this book. I immediately purchased this book when I bought tests 19-28 assuming that I would need the book to improve my performance. The book has turned out to be unnecessary. Of the dozen or so old LSATs I have taken I have yet to find an incorrect answer that didn't become apparent within a minute or so of reflection. When I initially consulted this book for help in understanding my mistakes I was very disappointed with the superficial reasoning and, in some cases, by the text's failure to actually explain the reasoning behind some of the answers. I gleaned some useful tips (ie, save parallel reasoning questions for the end of the section, etc.) but otherwise it was a wasted thirty bucks. If you understand your mistakes save yourself the cash.

Product Description

The Atlas LSAT Reading Comprehension Strategy Guide is an essential tool for a surprisingly tricky part of the LSAT. yet another great

yet another great LSAT prep resource. I am a huge power score fan so I may be biased. I say if their technique for teaching it is well worth investing in all their lsat prep materials. I used them all for my 3 month prep and I do not regret the investment at all. Just be careful not to repurchase this lsac prep book since this has test 51 included along with full answer descriptions.

lsat advanced

This product ultimately helped me in learning tips to do better on some LSAT sections; however, there were a few typing errors (or typos) that should not have been in a book like this.

Exam Crackers Logical Reasoning: What to Expect and How to Utilize Everything They Teach you

I would highly recommend this book for several reasons. For one, they cover pretty much ALL of the Logical Reasoning questions that you could expect in the section of the LSAT. They cover the some of the very common questions like inference, sufficient assumption/justify and necessary assumption/evaluate, point at issue/disagreement, paradox, parallel reasoning and parallel flaw. They'll also cover questions that you might NOT see on the LSAT, but they teach you about those so you can prepare for them if they do show up.
Some of questions that quiz you on your understanding of the common flaws are a little hard to understand how to do initially. However, once you look them over and think about how to do them properly, then you'll have no problem. Pretty much all of the practice questions are at the back of the book, and a majority of them are grouped according to specific questions like sufficient assumption, paradox, and parallel flawed reasoning. I would not answer these questions until you have a very good sense of how to answer them effectively.
It took me a while to get used to the questions, but I got better at them by writing the rules down on lined flashcards. I would HIGHLY recommend that people do this because you can simplify how to answer the questions. It also allows you to trim their rules of all the excess information that you DON'T need to answer the questions.
Just because this book was published in 2007 doesn't mean that it's outdated in any way. It still has information that can be applied to the questions that you'll see in most, if not any Logical Reasoning section.
I wish that the writers provided more prep tests, because the more you practice w/ the questions, the better you'll perform with them, and you'll feel more confident. If you feel that you need more Logical Reasoning questions to practice with, I would recommend that people supplement this book with one or more of the LSAC's "LSAT PrepTests". ALL of the questions in these books have been taken from previous LSATs, and sometimes they'll even show you WHY an answer is correct if you get a question wrong.
Over all, I would recommend that people buy this book because it teaches you how to answer most, if not ALL of the Logical Reasoning questions in an easy, effective manner. I believe that the information that they provide is practically invaluable when it comes to answering the Logical Reasoning questions. Buying this book will only do you good.

Only if you've run out of other prep material

This book is supposed to contain the most difficult questions to prepare a LSAT taker for the toughest LSAT questions.

Logic Games - The 20 logic games in the book are difficult, but aren't really like real games you are likely to encounter on test day, especially in the current LSAT era. There are some other books with good practice games. The games included in the book are rather clunky, confusing you weird rules and game types rather than challenging you to make key inferences. The games are ok if you just want a mental workout, but I'm not convinced it's good LSAT prep.

Logical Reasoning - The LR questions included in the book are actually not that hard. I've encountered much more difficult questions on actual preptests. The questions here I'd say are similar to the medium difficulty LSAT questions. If you are getting 2-3 wrong on LR sections, the questions in this book will be a piece of cake for you.

Reading Comprehension - The 12 passages are not really like what you will encounter on an LSAT. LSAT passages have a particular structure to them in terms of argumentation style and flow. But if you just want some hard to read passages just to get your brain used to reading, then doing these passages is not worse than reading the Economist, which is what most people who want extra practice at RC recommend.

Overall, I'd say that if you've exhausted all of your other preptests and still want some work to do, go ahead. But I didn't find these questions that representative nor did it really prepare me for getting a top percentile score.
