| 18 official full length + experimental section LSATs!This is one of four books you get when you sign up for the 12 week kaplan prep course. It includes 18 official, full length lsats each with an experimental section. So you get real, full length 5 section plus writing tests. This is a deal but nobody knows about it because you'd have to take the course to get the book usually. The other books included in the prep course package are: Timing Practice(includes many individual sections of LR AR & RC), Mastery Practice(includes tons of individual questions of each type), Lesson Book(contains lessons that are reviewed at each kaplan session. All questions used in these books are from real tests.
I was lucky enough to get someone's materials from the kaplan course. The tests range from PrepTest 8 to some in the 30s, 40s, 50s and the June 2007 test--so you get the whole spectrum.
There are no explanations however so get a Super Prep if you're looking for that. It does give the scoring table for each individual tests and of course the answers. Read more...

| incorrect answersJust to give an idea of a major problem with this book, I'd like to point out Game 52. In this game, three piano players must learn exactly three of six pieces. In the instructions it says, "Each piece is learned by at least one, but not more than two of the students..."
For the first question pertaining to game 52, it asks "Which of the following could be a complete and accurate list of the pieces learned by the three students?"
The answer key indicates that the correct response is (A) Ali: 2,3,5; Ben: 3,4,6; Claire: 2,5,6.
Does anyone see the problem with this answer supposedly being the correct choice? It doesn't have any of the students learning piece #1, despite the fact the rules stated, "each piece is learned by at least one, but not more than two of the students..."
Obviously this is a clear mistake. It also leaves me with very little confidence in the book as a whole. If it has one mistake, who's to say it doesn't have numerous other mistakes? Read more...

| Product DescriptionThe LSAT is an exam which is full of patterns. Because of this, using previously-administered LSATs is indisputably the most effective way to prepare for the test. Logical reasoning questions, especially those with argumentive stimuli, exhibit recurring structures and patterns of reasoning. In order to maximize your potential on this section, it is important that you learn to recognize these patterns and exploit them to the fullest extent. In this volume, Cambridge LSAT groups the 997 logical reasoning questions from PrepTests 1-20 by type, and presents each particular grouping in order of increasing difficulty. Thus, as your technique improves in any one category, you will face more challenging questions. Chapters o Introduction o Must Be True o Most Strongly Supported o Complete the Passage o Cannot Be True o Main Conclusion o Point o Necessary Assumption o Sufficient Assumption o Strengthen o Weaken o Evaluate o Method (Argument) o Method (Statement) o Flaw o Parallel (Valid) o Parallel (Flaw) o Paradox o Principle (Identify) o Principle (Apply) Read more...

This is the worst LSAT prep book I have seenThis book is of incredibly low quality. Do not buy it.
My biggest complaints:
For starters, the strategies outlined for the various question types are lacking in substance and, especially for the logic games, are absurdly time-consuming. You could spend the entire 35 minutes re-creating just one of the charts or diagrams that they claim you should use for the logic games. You would be better off just guessing than following their methods.
The practice tests at the end of the book are laughable. The questions are full of spelling and grammatical errors and many questions have NO correct answer, in many cases as a direct result of these errors. Many of the questions are confusing and are of obviously lower quality than those on the two actual LSAT tests that are also included in the book. The explainations offered are also laughable - one sentence "explaining" which is the correct answer and no information about why the other answers are incorrect.
(see Practice test 3, section 1, question 12 for a good example - there is NO correct answer and they do not explain how they managed to choose one over the others).
Trying these practice tests will drive you crazy and you won't gain any skills to help you with the actual test. This book was not properly thought out and it appears not to have been edited at all.
Again, do not buy this book. Read more...
